We’re recognised as children’s eye health specialists

Children's eye examination

You know better than anyone that your child doesn’t want to be stuck in a dark room being spoken to in a language they don’t understand. You want your chosen optician to be able to keep them entertained, be professional and approachable and most importantly, miss no aspect of their eye health.

At Heather Bailey Optometrists we can guarantee you all of these things.

If you’re looking for an optician you can trust with your child’s eyes then look no further. We are listed as paediatric screening specialists and are regularly recommended by local children’s clinics in the surrounding area.

When you bring your child for their eye examination with us, they can look forward to an interactive experience that will have them confusing their sight test with having lots of fun. Our optometrists use a number of specialist techniques and equipment so that your child forgets they’re spending their precious playtime having their eyes tested.

All of our opticians have a wealth of experience when it comes to dealing with youngsters. They’re used to children coming to the practice apprehensive, over-excited and bored, and have therefore developed lots of ways to encourage children to participate.
You’re recommended to start bringing your child to see us for regular eye examinations once they reach school age. Around this time your child’s eyes are still developing, and any minor conditions spotted before the age of 8 are very likely to be completely corrected.

It doesn’t matter if your child can’t read when they come to have their sight test with us. We use a variety of approved methods to monitor the muscles that control the eyes, as well as their movements, to determine the health of your child’s vision.

If your child requires eyewear once their examination is complete, they will be shown the exciting collections we have available. Amongst our bright and vivid ranges your child can choose from Bench, Nike, No Fear, Disney, and Ted Baker frames. However if they would prefer something a little simpler, we also have great unbranded options that they will love.
